long-tailed tits

More exotic bird life. Nothing that unusual – I have seen them in the garden before –  but still seldom seen, was the sight of a small flock of long-tailed tits feeding on the peanuts with the usual blue tits and great tits.

Why this recent influx of uncommon birds into my garden? Redwings next?

  1. I think you’ve found the reason for your blog – a detailed observation of the bird life of your garden. Now, all I’ve got to do is work out the reason for mine…

  2. By the way, that long-tailed tit is Aegithalos caudatus rosaceus, the southern subspecies. The northern subspecies, from Scandinavia and Russia, has a completely white head.
